Meet The Team
Dr. Deborah Cooper completed her D.D.S degree in 1992 from the University of Alberta, Canada. With over 25 years of experience in general dentistry her passion for dentistry continues as she strives for excellence. She continues to be educated in current topics by attending dental courses worldwide.
She has special interest in esthetic dentistry and creating beautiful natural looking smiles with healthy bites. For Dr. Cooper, individual patient care has always been her priority. Many of her patients have been with her for well over 20 years. She also values her team and has many long-standing team members.
Outside of her dental career she focuses on general health and well being. If she’s not in the office, she is travelling the globe and you may be lucky enough to see some of her photography books from her destinations when you visit the office.
Dr. Alden Hurtig graduated from the University of Manitoba 40 years ago with a D.M.D. degree and continued on to complete a residency at the Winnipeg General Hospital in Oral Surgery. In addition to dentistry, he also offers Botox as a service to his patients.
He is dedicated to making a difference in his patients’ lives by providing exemplary dental care. He knows that it takes more than just good technique to be a great dentist. It takes commitment, understanding, and most importantly, a genuine interest in patient health and safety.
Nada completed her Registered Dental Assisting Level 2 education in 1997 from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology in Edmonton, Canada. After being in the industry for 10 years, Nada went on to pursue dental hygiene at the Canadian Institute of Dental Hygiene in Hamilton, Ontario.
With over 20 years of experience, Nada has contracted her skills for clinics throughout Calgary and surrounding area. She and Dr. Cooper have been working together for over 10 years. She has been in many different dental settings but especially loves honing in on treating periodontal disease and focusing on prevention for overall health.
Nada diversified her skills to include practice management, as well as leading her clinical team.
She is a mother of two lovely children. She and her family enjoy skiing and mountain biking. She is a certified indoor cycling trainer at the Repsol Centre. She welcomes any new comers to attend her classes. You will get quite the workout.
Laurie graduated with academic honours in Dental Hygiene from Cambrian College in 2001. For 17 years her primary position has been in periodontal therapy. She has always made it a mission to further her education. That has included extensive laser training. Laurie is the president of the Perio Laser Institute and conducts soft tissue laser education for dental professionals. Presently she is finishing the Orofacial Myology certification program.
Laurie serves as Councilor and Past President for the governing body of the College of Registered Hygienists of Alberta. She also volunteers with the Alex Dental Health bus.
Laurie has a lovely family with 3 children. They all live an active lifestyle filled with fun and global adventure. She and her husband love cooking delicious foods from all countries.
Kelly was raised in Kenora, Ontario. She completed her Registered Dental Assisting Level 2 program in Thunder Bay and Western University in 1997. Kelly graduated from the Dental Hygiene Program at the University of Manitoba in 2003. She has been practicing dental hygiene in the Calgary area for 14 years and has been in the dental field for over 20 years. Kelly also completed her prescriber’s authorization course to be able to give dental prescriptions.
In Kelly’s free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and little boy. If there is time, she likes to hop on a plane for a quick trip to Vegas, or back home to see family and spend time around Lake of the woods.
Priscilla Office Administrator
Priscilla is the first smile you see when walking through our door and the last one wishing you a great day as you leave. She is your point person for all your administration needs. From handling your telephone needs, booking and organizing your families appointments, and assisting with your insurance; her goal is to aid us all in preventing dental problems. With her friendly and organized approach you will feel comfortable that Priscilla has your best interest in mind.
Her passions include spending time her husband and her dog Nevada. In addition, she enjoys sampling Calgary’s culinary scene and exploring the outdoors. She has a special interest in fashion, arts and interior design.
Merle’s 30 year career in the dental field began fresh out of high school at Red River Community College in Winnipeg where she received her education in dental assisting. Following several years of gaining clinical experience she advanced into the administrative duties of a dental practice.
Merle is a grandmother of 5, a mother of 3 and wife of one. After a day of work, she finds relaxation on a golf course or covering ground on a bike, snowshoes or a long walk with her husband followed by a good bottle of wine.
Nikki graduated from the dental assisting program in 2015 at Camosun College in Victoria, B.C. as her class representative. Since then she has taken any opportunity given to her to go to continuing education courses in multiple areas of dentistry. She enjoys the diversity of dentistry as well as helping others find comfort in their smiles and the dental office.
In her free time you can find her upside down while practicing acroyoga, riding her bike, cooking and exploring Calgary’s mountains with her boyfriend and dog Jolie.
Natasha received her Registered Dental Assisting Level 2 education in Calgary in 2006. She has been working in dentistry for over 10 years. The majority of her career has been with Dr. Cooper. She has aided her as a dental assistant and as a patient care coordinator. One of the things Natasha enjoys most about dentistry is seeing how changing a patient’s smile transforms their lives and developing long-term relationships with the patients. She feels that often when patients come in, it’s like visiting with your friends.
In her free time Natasha enjoys practicing yoga, hiking in the summer and travelling the globe with her husband.
Erin Registered Dental Assistant
Erin received her Registered Dental Assisting Level 2 education over 12 years ago from SAIT in Calgary, Canada in 2005. As a dental assistant she loves developing relationships with her patients and making them comfortable. Erin has the ability to make everyone smile. Her bubbly personality and life stories will certainly entertain you.
Erin has 2 beautiful children and thoroughly enjoys camping with her family in the mountains or by any body of water. The outdoors is where they all reconnect. If you have a camping destination that you have discovered, Erin would love to hear about it.
